Research overview
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme present in every living cell. It carries electrons in glycolysis, the citric acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, and is the substrate consumed by sirtuins, PARPs and CD38.
Because cellular NAD+ levels decline with age in many tissues and model organisms, NAD+ and its precursors are widely used in research on mitochondrial function, DNA repair and cellular ageing.
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. NAD+ is hygroscopic and light-sensitive; store sealed at −20 °C.
