Research overview
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH, residues 11–13), and retains part of the parent hormone’s anti-inflammatory activity in experimental systems.
Research has examined KPV in cell and rodent models of intestinal and skin inflammation, including work on its transport by the PepT1 transporter and on nanoparticle delivery in colitis models.
