MW 390.35 CAS 307297-39-8 ≥99.0% (HPLC)
A synthetic tetrapeptide based on a pineal extract.
What it is
Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide designed from the amino-acid composition of epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland.
Research, largely from the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, has examined its effects on telomerase activity and telomere length in cultured cells, and on melatonin rhythms and lifespan in rodent models. Independent replication of many findings is limited.
